Liam Gallagher suggests Oasis could discuss new music after Live ’27

Liam Gallagher has suggested Oasis could discuss making new music after their sold-out Live ’27 tour, saying he cannot see the band touring again beyond that run without fresh material.

Responding to a fan on X on Monday 28 September, Liam indicated that a successful tour could lead to a conversation about recording. His comments raise the possibility of the reunion developing beyond live performances, but do not confirm that an album is being written or planned.

New music could be the next conversation

Liam made the suggestion after a fan encouraged Oasis to make new songs. He described discussing fresh material as a possible next step, conditional on how the forthcoming shows go.

His clearest statement concerned what might follow Live ’27:

“can’t see us touring again unless we have new music”

That gives fans an indication of how Liam sees the band’s longer-term future. It is still a personal view expressed on social media, rather than an announcement of studio sessions, a release date or another tour.

How does that fit with Noel’s recent comments?

Earlier in September, Noel Gallagher appeared to dismiss the prospect of new Oasis material when asked about it by talkSPORT following the Live ’27 announcement.

The brothers’ comments leave an unresolved question about what comes next. Noel’s response indicated that new music was not part of the announced plans; Liam has now suggested the subject could be revisited after the tour.

It would be premature to describe this as a confirmed change of direction. Liam has proposed a future discussion, and no joint commitment to recording has been announced.

Live ’27 remains the immediate focus

The comments come as Oasis prepare for a second major run of reunion shows following their 2025 comeback.

All 42 Live ’27 dates have sold out, with the itinerary taking the band across the UK, Ireland, mainland Europe and the United States. The tour includes their return to Knebworth, more than three decades after the defining concerts of August 1996.

That demand demonstrates the continuing appeal of the existing catalogue. Liam’s latest remarks suggest he is also considering what might give Oasis a reason to continue performing together once the next tour is complete.

No new Oasis album has been confirmed

Oasis’s most recent studio album remains 2008’s Dig Out Your Soul. A new record would therefore mark a substantial addition to the band’s history, but there is currently no confirmed recording schedule, track list or release timetable.

For now, the development is specific: Liam has opened the door to discussing new music after Live ’27. Whether that conversation leads to songs, an album or further shows remains undecided.
