The Rock Hall’s official Oasis page describes the band as one of the most successful and influential acts of all time, pointing to the scale of their impact since emerging from Manchester in the early 1990s. It also confirms the inducted Oasis line-up as Gem Archer, Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs, Andy Bell, Liam Gallagher, Noel Gallagher, Tony McCarroll, Paul McGuigan and Alan White.
The honour follows three consecutive years of nomination, with Oasis having previously appeared on the ballot in 2024 and 2025 before finally being voted in this year.
In typical Liam Gallagher fashion, the news was greeted with a mixture of sincerity and mischief online. After the announcement, he thanked supporters on X and called it “a real honour,” saying it was something he had dreamed about since he was a kid. He also joked about “Reverse psychology vibes” after previously mocking the Hall, and later said his mother had told him to “stop being a dick” and go to the ceremony. When asked what he might say on the night, Liam quipped that he would bring “a box of chocolates and flowers” and apologise for his earlier comments.

That reaction marked a sharp change in tone from last year, when Liam famously dismissed the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as being “for WANKERS” after Oasis received another nomination. This time, though, he appeared to fully embrace the moment, even indicating that he and Noel would both attend, writing that they were “both going” and were “soooooo proud and humble.”

For Oasis, the induction is another sign of how dramatically the story has turned. After years of separation and public sparring, the reunion era has already restored the band to the centre of rock conversation. Now, with a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction confirmed, Oasis have been formally recognised not just as Britpop icons, but as one of the defining bands of their generation.
