Lyrics
There's gold in the city
But never quite enough that it'd pay the rent
You could've had it all
But the pity and everything you're gonna need is heaven-sent
Maybe the dream that we had is gone
The people 'round here are like a setting sun
They're pickin' you up
When they're knocking you down
But they can't stop me from loving you
Do you want a butterfly
The deals doesn't let it by
You do the damage kid
If love's what it's all about
It's all I can show you now
You do the damage kid
Like a stone, I was falling
Would anybody come and get me out of here?
I waited in the rain for the calling
Would anybody come and get me out of here?
Maybe the dream that we had is gone
The people 'round here are like a setting sun
They're pickin' you up
When they're knocking you down
But they can't stop me from loving you
Do you want a butterfly
The deals doesn't let it by
You do the damage kid
If love's what it's all about
It's all I can show you now
You do the damage kid
Be my butterfly
Please don't forget about it
You do the damage kid
If love's what it's all about
It's all I can show you now
You do the damage kid

Notes
Released in November 2014 as the B-side to the single "In the Heat of the Moment," it later appeared as a bonus track on the deluxe edition of the band's second album, Chasing Yesterday (2015). The song features an energetic, guitar-driven sound with themes of love, struggle, and perseverance amid urban disillusionment. Noel Gallagher wrote and produced the track, which he once described as potentially his 23rd best song ever. It was initially considered as the opening track for Chasing Yesterday for about a year before being replaced by another song (which Noel called his 22nd best).
The official audio and a music video were released alongside the single. The video, directed by an uncredited team, was filmed in Westlake, Los Angeles, and prominently features the LA Derby Dolls roller derby group, adding a dynamic, high-energy visual element to the song's themes.
