Noel Conceived Mucky Fingers in Late 2003 during the pre-Don't Believe the Truth Sessions, inspired by late night dressing room antics on the Heathen Chemistry tour. As he recounted, it stemmed from blasting the Velvet Undergrounds' I'm waiting for the Man to brainwash Gem Archer then pivoting to Dylan style folk blues.
