Written by Noel Gallagher and released as a standalone single on December 18th 1994, serving as a bridge between their debut album Definitely Maybe and their second album (What's the Story) Morning Glory.
It peaked and No 3 on the UK singles chart, marking their first top 5 hit and features orchestration by the London session Orchestra, adding a string section that gives it a more anthemic, orchestral rock feel compared to their earlier raw sound.
Lyrically it's an ode to personal freedom and self-expression. Later added as a bonus track to some international editions of Definitely May and featured on the 1998 B Sides compilation The Masterplan.
Noel, by his Own Admission, was still quite pissed from the night before in the video
