Lyrics

know a girl who's lost and lonely
Sits by the phone on her own
But the phone don't ring
And the birds don't sing in her tree
She lost herself in a haze of pity
And doesn't know where to run
She's a headshrinker now
And I think it's time we have some fun

Lost in a fog
I've been treated like a dog
And I'm out of here
I got no name
And I feel no shame
And I got no fear
And I bow down
To the tears of a clown
Whatever's going down
Is coming around
I hope you don't regret today

For the rest of your lives
For the rest of your lives
For the rest of your lives
For the rest of your lives

Lost in a fog
I've been treated like a dog
And I'm out of here
I got no name
And I feel no shame
And I got no fear
And I bow down
To the tears of a clown
Whatever's going down
Is coming around
I hope you don't regret today

For the rest of your lives

I know a girl who's lost and lonely
Sits by the phone on her own
But the phone don't ring
And the birds don't sing in her tree
She lost herself in a haze of pity
And doesn't know where to run
She's a headshrinker now
And I think it's time we have some fun

Lost in a fog
I've been treated like a dog
And I'm out of here
I got no name
And I feel no shame
And I got no fear
And I bow down
To the tears of a clown
Whatever's going down
Is coming around
I hope you don't regret today

For the rest of your lives
For the rest of your lives
For the rest of your lives
For the rest of your lives

Notes

"Headshrinker" is a high-energy B-side from Oasis, released on the Some Might Say single in 1995. Written by Noel Gallagher, the song showcases Oasis at their most aggressive, with driving guitars and raw vocals from Liam Gallagher**. Its lyrics reflect themes of frustration and escape, delivered with the trademark swagger and attitude of the band.

It sounds like the Faces on speed, doesn’t it? We used to have a lot of fast songs like that years and years ago in 92, 93.

Noel Gallagher Melody Maker

First released on April 24th 1995 as a b-side to the single Some Might Say, the track was recorded at Lock Studios, South Wales

"Headshrinker" is a fan favorite, appreciated for its unapologetic rock sound and the powerful energy that characterizes Oasis's early B-sides.

It's often interpreted as tale of personal turmoil, regret and chaotic encounters, fitting themes of working-class life and rebellion.

Fans regard it as one their stronger B-sides, with liver performances highlighting it's punchy riff and crowd-pleasing energy.
