Live Forever

During the performance of their anthem “Live Forever”, frontman Liam Gallagher dedicated the song to the victims of a recent violent incident in Minneapolis:

“I want to dedicate this next tune to the kiddies of Minneapolis.”
This acknowledgement of the tragedy added a moment of solemnity to what was otherwise a high-energy celebration of the band’s catalogue.

The Real People: the Liverpool band who helped shape early Oasis

In the standard Oasis origin story, The Real People are often reduced to a footnote: a helpful Liverpool band who lent a studio, added a few harmonies, then disappeared back into the margins. That version misses the point. The Real People were not random bystanders who happened to be in the room when Oasis were young. They were already a proper band with a record deal, a self-titled 1991 album that reached No. 59 on the UK chart, and singles that charted in their own right, including “The Truth” at No. 41 and “Believer” at No. 38. Before they became part of Oasis folklore, they had already built a reputation for tuneful, melodic guitar music of their own.
