Owen Morris - Producer

Morris began his journey in the music industry at the age of 16 as a sound engineer at Spaceward Studio in Cambridge, England. This early exposure provided him with a solid foundation in audio engineering, setting the stage for his future endeavors.

In 1994, Morris played a pivotal role in mixing and mastering Oasis's debut album, Definitely Maybe, capturing the band's raw energy and contributing to the album's critical acclaim. He continued his collaboration with Oasis on their subsequent albums, (What's the Story) Morning Glory? (1995) and Be Here Now (1997), further cementing his reputation as a producer capable of delivering chart-topping hits.

Beyond Oasis, Morris's production credits include The Verve's album A Northern Soul (1995), Ash's 1977 (1996), and The View's debut album Hats Off to the Buskers (2007), which reached number one on the UK Albums Chart. His versatility is evident in his work with a diverse range of artists, including The Fratellis, Loso, and Sek Loso

Morris is known for his distinctive production style, often employing techniques such as varispeeding to adjust tape speed, enhancing the excitement and energy of recordings. His approach to mastering, particularly on Oasis's albums, involved maximizing volume and impact, contributing to the signature sound of the Britpop era.

In 2013, Morris re-mastered the first three Oasis albums for their 20th-anniversary reissues, ensuring their enduring appeal to new generations of listeners. According to a 2020 Rolling Stone article, Morris has since retired and resides in Costa Rica, leaving behind a legacy that continues to influence contemporary music production.
